Perform general fire safety inspections of all occupancy group classificationsPerform proactive building inspections to predict potential areas of concern Perform fire inspections for brush abatement and document findingsEnforce and maintain fire safety policies and procedures for studio operationsInspect and evaluate buildings and job sites and issue permits for Hot Works operationsPerform Hot Work job spot checks and document resultsPerform Fire Watch duties as assignedAbility to use and train others in the use of a Thermal Imaging CameraAssist with maintenance and notifications on Fire/Life Safety system impairments as required by FM GlobalAssist with the supervision of testing and certification program for all building fire/life safety systems and document process and findingsPerform fire safety permit inspections for issuance of special permitsInspects public displays and gatherings and document findings and recommendationsAttend classes, seminars and conferences in order to remain abreast of all current codes, ordinances and best practices in the field of fire prevention, fire safety and the motion picture industryInvestigate remediate, and document reported fire hazardsInvestigate cause and origin of fires and recommend policies and procedures to remediate dangerous conditions that lead to firesMaintain records, files and documentation to insure compliance with local jurisdictional and company requirements. Prepare reports as needed.Function as a member of the studio Disaster Response Team and or Emergency Operations Center team as requiredProvide fire prevention and safety education to large groups, employee fairs, or other special eventsWork nights and weekends as requiredPerform related duties as required
Seeking a highly motivated individual to join the NBCU Team in very dynamic feature and television production environment. The applicant will assist in managing and implementing various fire prevention and fire safety programs and policies for a facility with a varied work force. The successful candidate must have the ability to assimilate information quickly and develop compliant business oriented solutions.
•Working knowledge of International Building Code and California Fire Code, and all related NPFA Standards.
•Proven knowledge of fire protection systems and equipment through a minimum of 1 year of related work experience
•Proven knowledge of basic fire chemistry and physics and extinguishing techniques
•Minimum 2 years of experience in a municipal or industrial fire prevention organization
•Minimum 1 year of experience with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills

•California State Fire Marshal Certified Firefighter I

•Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and operations level personnel
•Ability to think creatively and problem solve in a constructive manner
•Prior experience in a corporate environment
•Prior motion picture or television studio experience
