POSITION OVERVIEW

As a FiComm Partners Senior Account Executive, you will play a pivotal role on the PR team, managing both up and down. The Senior Account Executive will assist the Communications Manager by serving as the first line of inquiry for questions from the Communications Associate. The Senior Account Executive plays a client-facing role, actively participating on calls and email correspondence, and can be called upon to run the “day-to-day” when the Communications Manager is unavailable. Serving as a key member of the PR team, you will be responsible for a defined group of clients working alongside a manager and associate, and also have direct interaction with the founders of the company. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a high energy, start-up style environment, has strong interest in the financial services and the financial advisory industries, values and cultivates client and industry relationships, and excels in a fast-paced atmosphere.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • First draft and review of press releases, pitches, award or speaking submissions
  • First draft and review of quarterly coverage reports, clients’ contributed content, media bios, media briefing sheets, press releases, PR planning calendars and other client-facing materials
  • Review and approve all client-facing correspondence from the Communications Associate
  • Make sure all information is entered into Salesforce in real time or by EOD
  • Ensuring all client activity and interactions, including call notes, secured, pending coverage, interviews, interview notes, pitches, etc. are entered into Salesforce daily
  • Identify expert source / market commentary opportunities for client commentary in breaking or developing news stories, develop corresponding pitches and conduct outreach in coordination with PR team
  • Draft pitches and conduct media outreach to reporters via email and follow-up via phone
  • Secure, coordinate, and manage media interviews; provide interview feedback to clients and handle any follow-up requests from reporters or clients
  • Review and approve sample tweets of secured coverage
  • Administrative support including media coverage monitoring and communication, development of media lists, interview briefing sheets, wire release management, reporting requirements, and CRM updates
  • Identify opportunities for the PR team via editorial calendars, speaking opportunities, and award submissions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists and editors at top tier finance and trade publications
  • Review and analyze industry news and ongoing trends to create opportunities for clients
  • Help execute PR programs for clients across print, digital, and social media channels
  • Support PR team in execution of research projects, surveys, case studies, and other creative communications strategies
  • Offer help to co-workers on projects and volunteers before being asked
  • Ask questions and has strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask working together in a team environment as well as working independently
  • Closes the loop on assignments, notifying the team when actions are complete
  • Supporting team with additional tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S./B.A. in Journalism, Communications, or related fields
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of prior public relations experience (similar to AE/SAE experience)
  • Knowledge of finance is a plus
  • Exceptional verbal, writing, editing, research, and intrapersonal skills
  • Hyper-organized professional with proven project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with knowledge of Salesforce and Meltwater/Cision/Vocus/Gorkana preferred
  • Creative and energetic personality with start-up mentality that has the ability to work independently and within a team
