Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Communications Specialist II to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.


Job Summary:


The Communications Specialist II will play a critical role for the Cox Automotive Internal Communications team as a hands-on expert for the intranet and other digital communications channels. This individual will write, edit and manage companywide communications campaigns and be responsible for aligning the Internal Communications teams’ content in the proper communications channels. He/she will manage the intranet home page by surfacing employee-facing content while seeking out relevant business unit news and information. He/she will work closely with the Cox Enterprises Internal Communications team to cascade relevant Cox news and information in Cox Automotive preferred channels. This individual will also partner with the Cox Enterprises Internal Communications team to help manage the InSideCox Go app and promote this tool amongst the Cox Automotive communicators. He/she will also provide technical support for content contributors, community managers and employees who seek assistance with Fuel page builds, InSideCox Go support, mass emails and other channel inquiries. The right candidate will be a skilled writer and editor, knowledgeable about a variety of traditional and developing communications channels, a fast learner, a self-starter and a team player.


The Role:

  • Responsible for sourcing information, interviewing subjects, writing, editing and delivering high quality internal communications through a variety of channels. Working closely with communicators supporting the different Cox Automotive brands, the specialist will be responsible for day-to-day communications project management and for communications plan execution.
  • Responsible for the continual maintenance of the home page and support companywide initiatives driven by the Cox Automotive Internal Communications team. Support includes developing and sending companywide emails, managing the digital displays across the country and any Fuel responsibilities as needed.
  • Seek and adapt relevant content for positioning on the Fuel homepage and provide recommendations and strategies for using the intranet and related social media tools to better tell the Cox Automotive story to employees, with a continual eye on future development in partnership with Technology.
  • Support ongoing communications department projects and activities, including preparing and sending large group emails, newsletters and similar entities, posting company-wide announcements and stories, and providing back-up support to other specialists in the department as requested.
  • Fulfill communications tactics to meet the strategic and operational goals and objectives of the intranet, including communications campaigns, engagement initiatives, gamification, Quarterly Updates, microsites, etc.
  • Provide recommendations and strategies for using the intranet and social media tools to tell the Cox Automotive story to employees, with a continual eye on future development in partnership with Technology.
  • Co-manage the Fuel theme, layout and key content areas (announcements, executive blogging, trending content).
  • Assist in creating and execute the design, development and deployment of various website pages, microsites.
  • Coordinate with Creative Studio for all graphical element requests that support intranet groups and spaces.
  • Provide first-level consultative technical support for employees and super users of Fuel providing recommendations and training as needed. This includes employees who need assistance with group or space creation, page layout, design; at times, provide hands-on support creating groups or spaces.
  • Help monitor employee dialogue through blogs and intranet comments that can be addressed by Communications and/or senior management.
  • Maintain image library and create video/b-roll footage repository.
  • Compile and share site adoption information, including usage trends and statistics and recommending aligned improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with other department members to provide technical and related guidance and support for Fuel.
  • Support ongoing communications department projects and activities, including preparing and sending large group emails, newsletters and similar entities, posting company-wide announcements and stories, and providing back-up support to other specialists in the department as requested.
  • Other departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS ins related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • 3 years of experience in general communications (some internal communications experience preferred).
  • 2 or more years of combined experience and proficiency with Jive, SharePoint or other content management systems.
  • HTML coding, photo editing/graphics experience.
  • Familiarity with direct marketing tools (such as MailChimp or Emma).
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail.
  • Superb writing and editing skills and a strong sense of narrative and story-telling.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills and work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to prioritize work on a daily basis and be comfortable with minimal oversight in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to treat confidential material appropriately.
  • Strong project management, editing and writing skills.
  • Open-minded, flexible, adaptable to change.
  • A team player who is able to adapt to different personalities and work styles, and partner with people at all levels of business.
