Manager/Senior Manager, Communications

U.S. India Business Council (USIBC)

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Organize all USIBC communications activities to support advocacy efforts and engage members.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop relationships with reporters and media outlets; maintain and grow targeted media lists; find advertising opportunities and manage special advertorial sections; write, edit, and distribute press releases; lead on executive communications, including blog entries, draft op-eds, and event descriptions; review external communications; create and manage content for social media accounts; help produce publications, including a monthly newsletter, from content creation to editing to final publication; develop templates and a style booklet for consistency across the department; monitor news in the U.S.-India space; send daily communications updates to members, Embassy, U.S. government contacts, and staff; and manage website design, content, and promotional material.


REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree and 5+ years’ experience in a public relations or communications firm, corporation, or trade association; trade or public-policy related experience; excellent written and verbal communications skills; strong organization and time management, with ability manage multiple workstreams and to work under tight deadlines; fastidious attention to detail; able to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high degree of accuracy; and an ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with senior-level executives. Knowledge of U.S.-India economic relationship and Indian politics and culture strongly preferred. Proven fluency with social media applications required.  Web and graphic design experience strongly preferred.
