Cox Automotive is hiring a Market Analyst to join the team.  The Market Analyst of Economic Industry Insights is responsible for
aggregating and analyzing proprietary and secondary research and data,
developing compelling visualizations, and communicating insights about key
market trends and future forecasts that enable the business as well as clients
to make informed decisions. This position reports into the Cox Automotive
Economic Industry Insights team, which helps support over $7B in revenue for
Cox Automotive.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work with assembled data as well as
    raw data and transform where appropriate into an organized, formatted,
    digestible, and actionable information to support analysis
  • Run analytics and quantitative
    reviews based upon assembled data looking across economic data, consumer
    data, vehicle sales data, credit data, pricing data, and survey data
  • Collaborate with analysts and
    economists on the Economic Industry Insights team and subject matter
    experts across Cox Automotive
  • Synthesize varied data sources into
    insights, recommendations and thought leadership from a holistic
  • Prepare reports of findings with
    compelling and insightful visualizations
  • Develop and evaluate efficient
    methods and procedures for automating data collection, transformation, and
  • Contribute to data set
    specifications requirements and improvements to ensure continued value and
    innovation of the analytics products.
  • Coordinate data feeds and updates
  • Develop and evaluate efficient
    methods and procedures for selecting, collecting, scrubbing, storing and
    accessing relevant industry data to feed team insights
  • Contribute to data set
    specifications requirements and improvements to ensure continued value of
    the analytics products.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Demonstrated project or working
    experience in Business Intelligence, Market Research, Economics or related
    field strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of analytics, statistics or
    visualization packages such as SAS, SPSS, R, eViews, STATA, or Tableau
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience in performing data analysis, statistics and modeling
    such as linear regression forecasting, correlation, clustering, driver
    analysis, goodness of fit and other statistical procedures preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong
    interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively interact,
    collaborate with, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an
  • Thrives on working as part of an
    enthusiastic and energetic team, inspiring others and keen to learn new
    skills from other disciplines to drive thinking further
  • Experience
    in automotive a plus but not required
