Role Summary:
Join the 11th Hour team as a Producer and help drive our coverage. You will have creative ideas to add to our daily show. You will contribute daily to pitching, writing and producing exceptional and impactful political discussion. You will utilize sound editorial/news judgement to determine which political events to cover and how to contribute to a meaningful, news making discussion.

Essential Responsibilities: Research and identify key debates and discussion Originate story ideas Write news scripts, teases, and guest segment intros Be familiar with turning around archival footageDetermine video and sound for assigned segmentsCommunicate daily story development with senior producers and anchorTake part in editorial planningPitch story ideas

Basic Qualifications:
• Must have extensive journalism experience cover politics
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge of American politics, and American history and strong writing skills a must
• Must have at least 3 years in both tape and desktop editing
• Bachelor’s degree
•Ability to quickly develop story, ideas, research and plan segments

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
• Must be willing to work in NYC
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics :
• Ability to work with graphics and video elements
• Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television
• Knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture
• Up to date on periodicals, including Op-Eds
