Emmis Austin Radio is a branch of Emmis Communications with a cluster of seven radio stations in north Austin including: KLBJ-AM (590), KLBJ-FM (93.7), KGSR (93.3), KROX (101.5), KBPA (103.5), KLZT (107.1), and Latino 102.7.

Emmis Austin Radio is seeking a proven New Business Development Digital Account Executive. The position will be focused on initiating new business relationships with key decision makers to help solve marketing challenges and produce measurable results. Candidates should understand the Austin market and digital media landscape, possess strong existing relationships and be skilled problem solvers with the ability to create solutions that address marketing challenges using Emmis Austin digital solutions.

 

Emmis Austin operates a full-service Digital department including SEM, SEO, targeted display, targeted email, OTT, and paid social solutions.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Create ongoing new business digital target account list primarily focused on small to medium sized businesses in and around the Austin area.

  • Attend industry related events throughout the year for networking opportunities.

  • Conduct weekly prospect research, calls, and meetings to initiate relationships with target accounts.

  • Initiate, build and maintain relationships at multiple levels with target accounts.

  • Navigate to decision maker, assess and uncover greatest needs and budget resources.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to solve target account marketing needs with integrated mix of digital media assets.

  • Create and deliver effective sales presentations.

  • Consistently exceed annual new business development goal and growth target.

  • Communicate effectively with project manager and various internal departments to ensure successful campaign creation and implementation.

  • Attend sales staff meetings and actively participate in training sessions.

  • Occasionally attend events as station representative for existing clients.

  • Continually seek new sources of business growth.

  • Other duties assigned as needed.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A degree in Advertising, Marketing, Radio/TV/Film or Digital Media preferred. High school diploma required.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Digital sales experience is required.

  • Prior radio or traditional media experience preferred.

  • Superior communication, questioning, listening skills.

  • Ability to anticipate next steps, identify problems and provide solutions.

  • Strong team player.

  • Spanish fluency is a plus.

  • Candidates must work well independently and within a team environment as well.

  • Valid driver’s license and state mandated automobile insurance required.
