NBC News is looking for a digital editor to drive its mobile coverage and alert strategy. The editor will be primarily responsible for curating NBC News’ mobile app, writing and sending breaking news alerts, and increasing referral traffic to NBC News content from partners such as Apple News, Flipboard and Smartnews.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital media and mobile trends, and have a sharp eye for what resonates with a mobile audience. The role, which is will also involve producing the NBCNews.com homepage, is based in New York.
It will require working either a Saturday or a Sunday.
• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years working in a newsroom
• A deep understanding of media trends, especially consumption on mobile
• Proven news judgment, high ethical standards and wonderful interpersonal skills
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours depending when demanded by news coverage and other editorial responsibilities
• Must be able to work under tight deadline pressure
• Ability to travel, if necessary
