NBC Entertainment is looking for an Executive Producer for a daytime show filmed on location in front of a live audience. Creative thinker with the skills and imagination to produce content including lifestyle, transformations, human interest stories, games, breaking news and pop culture. Must lead the pack with competitive bookings of newsmakers appropriate for the daytime demographic. Expert in trends and creating timely content using social media, viral videos, real people, user generated content, podcasts, and live viewer interaction. Develop and create ideas across all platforms and oversee the merge of broadcast, digital, and social media. Reporting to the Sr Executive Producer, as well as working closely with Producers, Production and digital teams, this role will be responsible for the execution of editorial content thru strategic planning, hands on management, and engaging our staff to create something unique every day.
From awards shows to celebrity interviews to lifestyle transformations and games, this position will be able to lead a team of creative producers and collaborate to ensure a high level of efficiency and effectiveness between all departments. The position will oversee supervising producers in creating engaging daytime content, help ensure that brand identity is strong and appealing to our target demos, and provide editorial oversight to ensure that team members are actively contributing to the shows’ creative and the teams’ shared success. This position is required to think and deliver big ideas that separate our show from the competition including live audience participation, games, and even concerts on site!
Oversee all editorial content, including supporting digital content, across all mediaDevelop and oversee creative with the Sr EP, as well as work closely with Production team members, to execute on directives including budget management, staffing oversight, and post/deliverablesRepresent the show and brand across multiple corporate functions and departments, including to third party vendors, developing strategic relationships, and responding to corporate directives and objectivesWorking closely with the Supervising Producer, ability to schedule and assign producers, both on a daily and advance levelCommunicate with talent to brief pre-show, produce during the live show, and provide a post mortem of things to correct or improve onFlexibility in role within the team and within the company, including working across multiple formats and departments as needed Responsible for building brand identity and growth through creativeCreative thinker with the skills and imagination to produce content that engages viewers including lifestyle, transformations, human interest stories, games and breaking newsEnsure projects meet predetermined deliverable specs and time/budget requirementsOversee Supervising Producer and Producer’s content from conceptualization through the various stages of execution, to include: Research/Writing/Studio and Field Producing/PostDiligent about production paperwork, music reporting, legal guidelines, journalistic standards, and adhering to the on-air working practicesStrong communicator who is a leader and able to inspire the team and stakeholders, take and deliver feedback constructively, and cultivate a team environment of communication and accountabilityOffer a range of creative paths, where appropriate, as part of the creative development processEnsures staff and show stays up to date on new technology, corporate partnership opportunities, and industry trends
• Minimum 10 years of broadcast experience specifically in daytime, game show, or lifestyle programming required
• Experience with iNews or ENPS delivery systems including writing scripts, delivery of show material, and other functions required
• Experience in setting story priorities and stacking, leading team meetings, and producing from booth required
