Public Relations Manager Role:

Influenster’s Public Relations (PR) Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the Company’s external visibility, reputation and credibility through strategic communications planning and media relations to both B2C and B2B audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a year-long communications calendar outlining key press opportunities for Influenster inclusion, plus accompanying outreach strategy and pitch angles, across consumer, news and trade media (inclusive of digital, print and broadcast)
  • Manage proactive media outreach as well as reactive inbound requests
  • Identify and secure new types of editorial opportunities, for example: podcasts
  • Build and maintain relationships with key publications and journalists
  • Monitor the external landscape and report interesting insights, trends and opportunities
  • Create materials including (but not limited to) message tracks, talking points, quotes, Q&A, case studies, press releases, fact sheets, infographics, white papers, blog posts, executive bios, etc.
  • Identify and submit Influenster and Influenster leadership to relevant press profile opportunities and industry awards
  • In collaboration with Marketing, help identify and secure relevant external partnership opportunities
  • In collaboration with B2B Marketing team:
    • Identify and submit Influenster leadership to relevant industry speaking opportunities
    • Secure media meets at conferences and events in which Influenster participates
    • Update and maintain Influenster corporate and executive profiles on relevant sites and publications (e.g. Crunchbase)
  • Secure media attendance to, and coverage of, Influenster monthly Insights Breakfasts and other relevant company events
  • In partnership with HR, help script and facilitate internal employee communications
  • Scenario plan, prevent and manage any issues or crises with potential to impact the business
  • As necessary, serve as an on-the-record spokesperson for the company
  • Develop a scorecard outlining key performance indicators and track progress; measure all media mentions

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years’ PR experience, encompassing both B2B and B2C
  • Established network of media contacts with strong relationships in relevant verticals (Media/Marketing, Tech, Beauty/CPG, Food/Beverage)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of the consumer technology landscape with an eye for trends
  • Solid understanding of business and marketing strategy
  • Experience working with and scripting senior executives
  • Some experience in issues and crises management
  • Basic ability to analyze data and glean interesting insights
  • Self-starter attitude and approach: ability to work autonomously and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
