Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Programming, the Director of Production is responsible for supervising the daytime productions. He/She will also oversee third party producers, partners and co-productions in order to streamline and optimize productions to assure they come in on-time and on-budget.
Purpose: To participate in the oversight and management of the morning show, Un Nuevo Dia, as well as Suelta la Sopa. The goal is to manage productions to make sure they are delivered on time and on budget, that the content is innovative and relevant to the audience while complying with corporate rules and regulations. Ultimately, the Director of Production will work with programming department with a mutual goal of generating increased ratings for the Network.
Strategize with senior Telemundo management to develop production goals and objectives.Oversee production of Un Nuevo Dia, Suelta La Sopa, and other properties.Day to day administration of budgets and timelines; including control of resources and CAPEX.Ensure that productions are in line with company’s standards and procedures.
o 8+ years of experience in the development and production
o Strong ability to initiate, develop, and supervise production of multi-platform content
o Hands-on production expertise for unscripted informational and entertainment content
o Prior experience with financial budgeting, forecasting and management of budgets
o Strong ability to work in collaboration with creative people including writers, producers and talent
o Structured financial mind with creative abilities
o Strong interpersonal and communications skills with ability to deal with all levels of management
o Thorough understanding of new delivery platforms, business development and repurposing of content
o Must be fluent in Spanish language
o Strong written and spoken English and Spanish language

o Must be willing to travel, as needed and on weekends, with short notice.
o Ability to work regular hours.
o Must be available to work all shifts, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, late breaking news and hurricane emergencies.
