Role Summary/Purpose:
This position is a Senior Executive Producer for MSNBC Weekend programming. The Senior Executive Producer will work with executive producers to make sure editorial content adheres to the core values of MSNBC. They will supervise and manage the morning, afternoon, and prime weekend teams.

Main Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the editorial planning process and present during show editorial meetings
• Responsible for watching live programming on weekends
• Aggressively respond to breaking news situations and live events
• Engage with Executive Producers and Hosts. Develop strong relationships
• Ensuring that legal and standards guidance is reviewed and followed
• Ensure that guest bookings are of the highest quality
• Monitor competitive
• Be present in control room, as needed
• Provide feedback during post-show meetings
• Manage team of Executive Producers plus oversight of all weekend programming teams
• Coach and mentor show Executive Producers and Senior Producers


Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor's degree
• Must have at least 8 years of experience in live television (i.e. morning shows, cable shows, broadcast TV, etc.)
• Must have at least 3 years of experience managing a team
• Must be willing to work weekends on a Wednesday – Sunday schedule

• Master's degree in journalism preferred
