Responsibilities
Create content specifically for the website and social media accountsWork with Drupal content management system to publish contentAssist Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks and Bears content teamsBe comfortable writing highly visible stories about assigned team. Strong base of AP-Style writing skillsIn-touch with the voice and demand of the fans as it pertains to sports newsPost to social mediaUse Adobe Photoshop to edit graphic templates for social mediaPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Thorough knowledge of local/national sports landscapes
  • General knowledge of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat
  • Experience with and knowledge of Drupal a plus
  • Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong editorial decision maker; ability to know what makes “fan-first” compelling and valuable content
  • Ability to create intriguing headlines, both in article and social media copy
  • Ability to work under tight time restrictions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with a positive attitude
  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative
  • Must be detailed oriented with strong organization skills
  • Handles multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously in a strict deadline-oriented environment
  • Teamwork - can work independently and in a small group
