TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of America’s favorite morning show, is looking for a Commerce Associate Editor to manage our ecommerce content. In this position you will help write shoppable content for TODAY.com/shop. The associate editor will be responsible for the daily optimization and creation of commerce articles, with a focus on broadcast content. This role will be responsible for identifying shoppable segments on the show, coordinating with the producers and getting all of the assets needed before the show airs each morning. The ideal candidate will have a mix of editorial and analytical skills. This person should be organized, detail oriented and skilled at coordinating between many different groups of people at any given time. He/she should be able to use data and analytics to inform editorial decisions and should be knowledgeable of what performs with our target audience. This person will also assist the commerce editorial team with trending and timely stories as they need help.

<u>Job Duties</u>
<li> Write shoppable content for Shop TODAY site
<li> Build commerce posts in the CMS
<li> Coordinate with show producers on upcoming shopping segments
<li> Participate in regular editorial meetings
<li> Collaborate with channel editors to identify and optimize any commerce-focused lifestyle content on TODAY
<li> Optimize posts based on affiliate partnerships and commerce opportunities
<li> Track metrics, SEO trends and keyword opportunities and iterate based on findings

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years professional editorial experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field of study
  • Demonstrated ability and firm grasp of spelling, grammar and punctuation rules (AP style)
  • Mastery knowledge in Excel or comparable data tracking tool

  • Prior e-commerce experience preferred
  • Prior experience working with broadcast, talent and/or show producers
  • Prior market work experience for a lifestyle brand
  • Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions
  • Efficient multitasker – unflappable ability to manage many different tasks at once
  • Strong and intimate understanding of data and analytics
  • Excellent communicator and ability to work across multiple teams
  • Knowledge of affiliate marketing platforms including Skimlinks, Amazon, Linkshare and Rakuten
