Team
The Strategy and Business Development team supports Universal Studios Hollywood's Theme Park revenue-generating businesses including ticketing, parking, food, retail, and sponsorship. The core responsibility of the team is to lead the company’s thinking and direction for growth on the longer-term horizon, playing a pivotal role in shaping and executing on strategic and business development initiatives. This team combines high level strategic thinking and analysis with operational exposure and implementation. The analyst will report to the Sr. Director of Strategy and Business Development.

Responsibilities
Strategy:
  • Perform quantitative/qualitative analysis to support the evaluation of corporate growth strategies and business development opportunities
  • Evaluate new technology trends that could impact/improve the park
  • Work with Director of Strategy to create analytic methodologies, detailed data analyses, financial forecasts, and tools for use in the assessment of strategic and new business opportunities
  • Structure and execute sophisticated financial analyses and models, including ROI calculations and sensitivity/risk analyses, to evaluate the impacts of strategies, potential partnerships, and new ventures
  • Perform market research, landscape, and sizing analyses to support strategy formulation
  • Create concise and actionable presentations, position papers, infographics, etc.
  • Pricing:
  • Lead pricing analyses, including revenue management, channel distribution maximization, and yield optimization for USH ticketing products
  • Analyze historical & current data and future trends to assist with pricing and restriction placement
  • General:
  • Support Ticketing and Financial Planning departments on an ad hoc basis
  • Understand, execute, and evolve financial reporting and analyses
  • Must have an active interest in live entertainment, in particular the role of new technology and its impact on consumption/experiences at theme parks
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working and willing to think outside the box


  • • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or relevant field
    • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Consulting, Business Development or Finance at Fortune 500 Company
    • Current employment at a company that participates in an externship program
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint as evidenced by experience creating executive level pitch books and decks or consulting materials
    • Experience producing concise and cohesive presentations, research briefings, and business plans
    • Experience presenting to and participating in discussions with senior level executives

    • Strong written and oral communications skills, and people skills
    • Exhibit strong leadership values with proven ability to develop/participate/lead cross-functional teams
    • Interest in technology trends
    • Experience in media and retail is a plus but not required
