Signal Group is looking for a Web and Social Media Analyst to join our expanding digital team. We’re seeking a smart, energetic candidate who loves to explore the stories that data can tell us about how people think, what they are interested in and what they care about. At Signal we use data to discover the insights that make a campaign effective, uncover new information about an issue or audience, and help guide us on how we can be more effective and increase our impact for clients.

The analyst will work as an integral part of our digital team and collaborate extensively with our strategic communications and government relations teams. You will be a part of forming our strategy with our clients, developing custom analytics and insight projects, and raising the quality, intelligence and insights of our work.

 The Model Candidate

  • Career interest in data science, digital communications/media and research
  • Love to stitch together insights from multiple platforms and tools to build strategies, not just reports
  • Have strong understanding and experience in using social media and web analytics platforms, and understanding of data analysis and presentation


  • Data expert within the digital team
  • Participate and help lead data and analytics strategy for pitches to prospective clients and execution of strategy with signed clients
  • Collect and synthesize data across web, social and paid media
  • Create audience profiles and segmentation analysis
  • Lead projects in implementing tag management, event tracking and web analytics
  • Conduct A/B tests for campaign optimization (email, web, social, paid)
  • Work with team to track paid advertisement ROI
  • Work closely with account managers to formulate solutions to client opportunities using data and analytics and provide updates to internal teams and clients
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards and scorecards


  • 2+ years of total experience gained digital marketing, planning, and/or analytics
  • Comfortable finding the meaning in data, turning data into stories, and presenting data
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to effectively communicate campaign performance to internal and external campaign stakeholders
  • Experience in evaluative volumetric and content analysis of earned social data working with social media monitoring tools such as: Radian6, Brandwatch, TrendKite, and/or Crimson Hexagon
  • Experience with web analytics packages such as Google Analytics, Omniture, and/or WebTrends
  • Skilled in user of tools such as Excel, Tableau, and/or other data analysis tools
  • Ability to quickly pattern spot and surface actionable insights; separate signal from noise
  • Experience in working with designers to distill data into simple KPIs and data visualizations / dashboards / scorecards is helpful
