Role SummaryThe Director, Global Brand Marketing is responsible for developing the global marketing strategy for the home entertainment release of Universal Pictures New Release titles. The Director works closely with key territories around the world to maximize the profit of every title. Utilizing deep knowledge of consumer insights and industry trends, the Director also leads the North America marketing campaign development and execution and works closely with cross-functional marketing partners to plan and manage all efforts to achieve performance objectives across both Digital and Physical platforms. Key Responsibilities Include: Marketing StrategyManage the development and distribution of the Global Marketing Strategy and Guidelines for New Release titles to all territories.Provide strategic direction and oversee the North America marketing campaigns in collaboration with internal teams (including Media, Publicity, Digital Marketing, Promotions, and Digital Distribution Marketing, and Retail Marketing) to develop plans that drive engagement, purchase intent and sales.Oversee the development of Global creative briefs used to develop all media assets for TV, print, radio and digital advertising, and marketing assets. Review and approve all materials.Determine North America Release dates and windowing recommendations by title. Present to senior management to garner alignment and approval; optimize International release dates and windows as necessary.Work with Global Research team to understand industry insights, and consumer behaviour. Share best practices and insights with territories and internal stakeholders.Identify key post-release insights (what worked/didn’t work) and deliver global key learnings to guide future release strategies. Present post-release findings to Senior Management and cross-functional teams when necessary.Maintain expertise and Industry knowledge of the physical and digital retail landscape. Financial OversightOversee the development of North America Home Entertainment P&L, including volume, pricing and budget rationale. Monitor competitive pricing and recommend domestic title level pricingCollaborate with Finance to create global P&L and communicate approved media and marketing budgets to local territories.Recommend annual global origination budget rollupDetermine the distribution viability of opportunistic releases. Product ManagementApprove Global strategy for SKU configuration, bonus and marketing content.Partner with Emerging Technology to explore new product innovation and potential applications.
Internal and Cross Divisional CollaborationMaintain strong working relationships with local territories, identifying and exploiting global synergies.Collaborate with Digital Distribution team on release strategy and marketing plans.Collaborate with internal Global divisions including Theatrical, Consumer Products, Games, Music, and Theme Parks to enhance marketing campaigns.Collaborate with symphony media partners to ideate synergy activationsContinuously support and share best practices globally
Leadership and Team ManagementManage direct reports; responsible for performance management and development of direct reports within team. Provide leadership in the form of feedback, support and ongoing coaching to drive engagement.Foster a culture of collaboration and communication
Experience in Brand Marketing/Consumer Packaged Goods/Entertainment
Previous experience managing direct reports
Experience in developing creative marketing materials (Packaging A/V, Print, Online)
Ability to interpret financial reports and manage P&Ls
Digital Marketing expertise across Paid, Social, Search mediums
Comprehensive understanding of international marketing, media, publicity and promotions
