If you love all things social media and pop culture and are a pro at making memes, gifs, short form videos, and spotting moments that are going to go viral – this job is for you. The Kelly Clarkson Show is looking for a socially-driven individual to join the team to help create and drive a social media strategy, create custom content that builds our community and engagement, and manage our social media accounts.
The ideal candidate is passionate and knowledgeable about all things social media and can build and execute a social media strategy for a group of social platforms. The ideal candidate will also be entertainment obsessed and be experienced developing editorial calendars, timely content plans, and day-to-day coverage across social media. Unafraid of numbers, the candidate will use performance data as a way to iterate and evolve social content for higher levels of engagement both real time and testing for the future. This person will be working with various stakeholders within the department to ensure engaging content also goes live on a regular and timely basis across key social platforms.
Plan, create and execute a social media content strategy to enhance the reach of The Kelly Clarkson Show/Digital goals, including but not limited: Writing and positioning daily social posts for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Amazon Alexa and emerging platformsCoordinate the rollout of content across social media platforms to align with show exclusives, launches and episodic momentsResponsible for day-to-day coverage of The Kelly Clarkson show contentIdeate and coordinate new content ideas for social that will amplify the brandAbility to create digital videos and graphics independentlyWork with digital video producers on the team to create new content for social channelsAbility to make memes, gifs, thumbnails, quote cards etc. Ability to shoot social media footage on-set, capture socially-relevant moments on-set and think outside of the box on how to turn content captured into highly-social, viral momentsMaintain an editorial calendar to align Kelly’s brand with key happenings on social media that will amplify our reach Work with the team to establish and maintain an authentic social voice that enhances the Kelly Clarkson Show brandImplement an engagement strategy that focuses on initiating conversations, building one-on-one relationships and influencing fan behaviorAnalyze performance data on a regular basis to make improvements to content creation and communicate findings and best practices in a weekly report to internal teamCoordinate with The Kelly Clarkson Executive Editor, Digital and Supervising Producer, Digital to help drive tune-in to the show, and come up with creative ideas to build excitement around guests and hostsCoordinate social concepts that support department-wide marketing and sales campaigns and event-based promotionsAbility to identify on-brand Kelly Clarkson moments via submissions and or UGC content
Basic Qualifications/Eligibility Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience producing custom social content and managing social media accounts, preferably in entertainment
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, California
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Snappy copywriting skills that make us smile and laugh
• Pop culture fanatic who can create fun content that incites conversation
• Proven understanding of social media best practices and a strategic approach to a wide range of new and emerging platforms
• Expert written and oral communication skills
Able to track and leverage KPIs, while understanding the rapidly changing social media landscape
• Willingness to work weekends and late nights if necessary
Experience with all forms of new media
• Skilled with Photoshop, Premiere or AfterEffects, social media products and schedulers, gifs and memes
