you’ll be asked to cover a number of issues, from news to health, parenting, celebrity, and more. Applicants must display the ability to frame a story for all of our platforms (site, social, app, newsletter, OTT, etc.) and remain calm in a time crunch.Candidates must have a gut instinct for a good story, quick decisiveness on angles and assignments, and a fun, clear, TODAY-friendly voice. If you love to spot a story as its going viral and have a great sense of what will turn into a talker before it’s all over the internet, this is the job for you. You should have a love of and passion for pop culture, and pride yourself on seeing things first.Be organized and independent: candidates will work Wednesday-Sunday, with a lot of autonomy during the weekend shifts, which means you must have impeccable news judgement and accuracy in your work. You should be able to spot a great story and turn it around quickly and responsibly, to keep our readers as up-to-date as possible.Be comfortable framing stories for and posting them to social media, identifying the content that will resonate with our audience and lend itself to being widely shared.Love data: candidates must display a knack for using analytics to help guide story selection.
TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of the TODAY Show, is seeking a reporter/editor to work a Wednesday-Sunday schedule. Candidate should:
Must have 3+ years of writing/editing experience in a newsroom
Working knowledge of social, video production and online publishing tools
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Journalism History or a relate field of study
Previous experience working with iNews
