Responsibilities
  • Create content specifically for the NBC Sports Bay Area social media accounts
  • Publish owned-and-operated articles of curated social media content to the NBC Sports Bay Area website and MyTeams app
  • Communicate effectively with editors, web desk and management in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Work with members of the digital team to brainstorm ideas for forward-looking content
  • Write social media captions across all platforms
  • Manage internal and external projects and track all progress with daily updates in Trello and Basecamp
  • Compile and distribute nightly report to managers
  • Alert digital team of stories trending on social media
  • Capture compelling on-site content for use on all platforms
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in digital sports content, specifically social media
  • Strong proficiency of social media platforms and digital media

    Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop / Premiere preferred
  • Proven demonstration of a compelling social voice
  • Prior field experience with a team or media organization
  • Thorough knowledge of Bay Area sports teams
  • Basic knowledge of search engine optimization and distribution tactics
  • Basic knowledge of content management systems
