ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be creating new relationships with potential funders and cultivating current ones. thinking of creative ways to secure new funding for PBS NewsHour. You’ll be working cross-department to ensure funding reports are accurate and submitted on time. We’ll also have you working with senior producers to help in the creation of forward-planned segments on a variety of subjects.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
You’ll get to know your team and the wider organization, and how each group functions independently as well as part of the whole. You’ll learn about our funders and strategize about how to approach new funders. You’ll be writing and submitting proposals and helping with segments for the broadcast.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You bring a vibrancy and terrific ideas to meetings. You’ve connected with not only your team, but with others throughout the organization and are commended for your ability to build relationships as well as to get the job done. You’ve secured funding for the NewsHour and have a great rapport with funders.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- A track record of submitting winning proposals.
- The emotional intelligence to interact with a wide variety of people.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work alone, but also work with teammates when needed.
- Knowledge of current events.
