VisitBritain is the official tourist board for England, Scotland and Wales and is responsible for marketing Great Britain worldwide to prospective travellers. Our mission is to build the value of tourism throughout Britain by increasing brand awareness and market share. Based in our mid-town New York City office, the Marketing Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the US marketing strategy and communications across all owned, earned and paid channels, to ultimately increase visits to England, Scotland and Wales.

MAIN DUTIES:

MARKETING SUPPORT:

  • Marketing Strategy Support:             
  • Working closely with the Marketing Team in the region, help support world-class delivery across marketing plans and campaigns, projects & collateral. Provide input and support for the delivery of tactical/brand marketing activity in the US as required
  • Social Media and Digital Marketing:
  • Provide feedback and insights into our annual social media plan, as well as homepage content and media room activity; assist with changes and direction
  • Draft online & social copy for website, social posts and E-newsletter. Update website using WordPress.
  • Provide proactive suggestions on how to leverage emerging social and digital trends to inspire travel to Britain
  • Provide assistance with curating and pulling approved images / video from VBI and OMG based on activity requirements
  • Campaign/B2B/Partnership Marketing Support:
  • As needed, provide administrative support for Campaign/B2B/Partnership marketing planning and delivery – including research & report writing
  • Help the Team monitor and evaluate campaigns to ensure alignment with market objectives and target audiences
  • Work closely with campaign leads to brief the creative agency for production of assets, and help ensure all creative outputs in market are on-brand and aligned with target audiences/partner requirements
  • General:
  • Provide assistance uploading partner / owned assets to VBI
  • Provide copy writing assistance / feedback or coordinate with Content Team
  • Work closely with campaign lead and analytics to create UTMs and Adara pixels for media activity
  • Assist with development and distribution of quarterly Americas internal VB e-Newsletter
  • Work with Content lead to develop content and distribute monthly consumer e-Newsletter
  • Update Activity Calendar where required
  • Contribute to Brandtracker and Arcadian dashboard submissions
  • Source assets for marketing use and campaigns including images through VBI
  • Work with Team to submit briefs to the creative agency where required (Digital Ads, Social Ads, Print)
  • Keep track of promotional materials, place orders where required
  • Help contribute to Marketing reports where required

EVENT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT:

  • Work with the team to support the delivery of events. Tasks will include pulling relevant invitation lists from the media database, assistance with decor, invitation design, liaising with media contacts, creating press kits, on-site attendance and assisting with press enquiries

ADMINISTRATION AND BEST PRACTICE

The Coordinator will provide administrative and financial support as follows:

  • Help prepare marketing presentations, program evaluation reports and activity reports
  • Raise purchase orders & invoice requests
  • Ensure value for money is achieved and that all financial administration is completed to the highest level of detail in compliance with VisitBritain guidelines
  • Schedule team and stakeholder meetings and events when required
  • Maintain orderly digital filing systems and support team in maintaining budget and MIK records for all activity
  • When needed, liaise with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials and service
  • Update contacts database, follow up where required
  • Ensure that collaboration is reflected across all projects through proactively working with the local regional team and globally.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Qualification in Marketing or Communications desirable
  • Good understanding of the US consumer landscape
  • Experience writing marketing communications and copy
  • Comfortable working cross-departmentally within the region and globally
  • Experience providing professional administrative support
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and anticipate tasks with minimal direction
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing and content management
  • Understanding of metrics and evaluation
  • Excellent IT skills, including good experience of MS Office, CRM, WordPress a plus
  • Ability to undertake through research and respond to inquiries
  • Awareness that VB is a public body which needs to deliver and demonstrate value and probity in everything we do
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Results-oriented, efficient and strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all activities
  • Flexibility & willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends, if needed, and to travel domestically and to the UK
