Digital All Topics Producer
An All Topics Producer is a digital media professional who can easily enhance, aggregate and display content from multiple sources or channels while aggressively identifying, developing and executing unique ways to engage our digital audience, increasing traffic and reach. An understanding of design is a plus but not a requirement.

This producer must have a strong sense of urgency, a contagious energy, and major creativity. They must know how to optimize each digital story, presenting the most compelling timely and relevant content to our Atlanta audience and increasing site engagement. When optimization isn’t front and center, this producer should work to conceptualize and execute interactive graphics or site designs that visualize trends, breaking news, numbers, ideas, and other data, with the end goal of increasing user engagement on our digital platforms.

An All Topics Producer doesn’t think outside the box, he/she works outside the box.

Has strong news judgment as well as understanding of business needs of our digital products and is able to display content accordingly.

• Uses site metrics, news judgement and the newsroom’s digital action plan to manage content on channels, ensuring content is compelling, timely and relevant and maximizing traffic potential.
• Quickly and consistently writes headlines, Web teases and other copy that is fair, accurate and error-free.
• Provides “Web edit” of stories and other content.
• Ensures content is optimized for search engines, by using SEO-effective words on story level pages and channels.
• Ensures content is optimized for increased engagement by building and inserting related content such as photos, video, photo galleries, maps, polls, quizzes, and data visualization objects.
• Consistently brainstorms, initiates and executes new content ideas to drive traffic.
• Provides support to the social team, as needed.
• Stays up-to-date on news, pop culture and emerging trends.
• Collaborates effectively with others.
• Creates and publishes interactives/designs that increase audience and user engagement on AJC’s digital platforms.
• Able to perform various online duties, such as monitoring wires and other Web sites, compiling and publishing newsletters, compiling content and pulling video from AP and other wire services, as needed.
• Ability to aggregate content from sources within and outside the AJC.
• Stays up-to-date on news, pop culture and emerging trends.
• Collaborates effectively with others.
• Handles other assignments as needed, showing flexibility and adaptability.

Qualifications:Education:• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: • Journalism background a plus

Additional Requirements: • Highly creative, excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail.
• Able to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
