Job Purpose
The VP, Current Programming will report to and work with the EVP of Current Programming and will manage aspects of current series for the NBC Network

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work in conjunction with the Comedy and Drama Development departments to transition shows that have been picked up from Development into Current series
  • Liaise with our studio counterparts to ensure longevity of our Current shows
  • Provide notes on cuts, stories, outlines and scripts
  • Work with Business Affairs to close talent and production deals
  • Work with Production to ensure that agreed to concepts are fully realized in production
  • Attend shoots, and work with show’s producers, production executive and studio to solve creative and production-related issues
  • Attend and act as a creative executive at table reads, run-throughs, tapings and series shoots
  • Build and maintain relationships with producers, directors, and production companies
  • Serve as liaison between production and other network departments including publicity, production, International, Home Entertainment, etc.
  • Work strategically with producers and studio to continuously reinvigorate current series
  • Build and maintain relationships with production and/or co-production partners


  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum 10 years experience in the television industry
    • Minimum 7 years in production or current capacity
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office

    • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA
    • Must have work authorization to work in the United States

    Desired Characteristics:
    • Experience in Comedy programming for the network television market with hands-on experience, ideally from both a production and a current stand-point
    • Proven skills in program scheduling and knowledge of network operations
    • Exhibit flexibility, excellent communication skills and relationship building ability
