We are looking for a full-time social media manager with one to two years of experience to join Los Angeles’s premier city magazine. The ideal candidate must already live in Los Angeles and be well versed in the city's culture, food, and idiosyncrasies. Do people who don’t even know you like following you on Instagram? Are you a natural storyteller? Is your grammar impeccable? Do your friends proofread their texts to you lest they incur your wrath? Then we want to meet you.

Duties will include:

  • Crafting a social media strategy that will grow our digital audience
  • Working closely with editors to frame stories for our existing digital audience
  • Executing social media campaigns on behalf of our marketing and sales teams
  • Briefing both sales and editorial teams on social strategy and growth on a weekly basis
  • Writing teases, choosing art, and scheduling content on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Maintaining a robust Instagram presence, in both our feed and stories
  • Generating fresh, innovative ideas to represent our brand and engage with L.A. on social media
  • Attending some proprietary events and covering them on Instagram and Twitter (which will require occasional nights/weekends)


  • 1-2 years managing social media for a publication, brand, or organization
  • Journalism background is preferred
  • Impeccable writing skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Love of Los Angeles and passion for its events and people
  • Organized, reliable team player who is constantly coming up with ideas and works quickly
  • Photoshop skills are a major plus
