Position Overview
The Director, Partnerships & Business Development will assist with driving the growth of NBCUniversal’s ad sales revenue and content distribution through the sourcing, expansion, and negotiation of innovative partnerships and business opportunities. This position will also negotiate crucial vendor agreements supporting the business operations and strategic growth of NBCUniversal’s Ad Sales division. This role will liaise cross-functionally within NBCU to help advise on issues related to the development and expansion of NBCUniversal’s ad sales partnerships.

ResponsibilitiesAssist with identifying and evaluating new partnership opportunities that can scale across the portfolio of NBCU’s digital and linear properties Negotiate and execute on key business terms with partners/vendors related to the monetization of NBCUniversal content on emerging digital platforms (e.g., OTT, vMVPDs, mobile, etc.), as well as vendors required to support such monetizationDevelop the strategy for implementing partnership opportunities Collaborate across the organization, including sales, planning, operations, strategy and finance to implement partnership opportunities Identify criteria and structure to measure the success and impact of partnershipsManage, lead and prioritize new partnership opportunities as well as the expansion of existing opportunities (e.g. Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Keep abreast of key industry trends and market conditions across all media (e.g., traditional, digital, social, mobile, etc.) in informing various opportunities

  • Required Qualifications
    • 7+ years experience in media, advertising/marketing, technology or consulting
    • Extensive experience negotiating business terms with media, digital, and/or technology companies
    • Knowledge of linear television and digital distribution and monetization, including through mobile and social media
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and track record of cultivating relationships internally and with external partners
    • Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to prioritize partnership opportunities and related tasks in line with strategic business objectives
    • Ability to work well independently as well as with a collaborative team

    Desired Qualifications
    • MBA or JD preferred
    • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Excel
    • Experience building basic financial models
    • Understanding of technologies that support digital advertising (ad serving, tracking, measurement, etc.)
    • History of collaborating with senior executives and coworkers at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to influence and promote action amongst colleagues who are neither direct reports or in the same department
