Reads and analyzes the script for any geographical locations, which are cited along with the time of year and date during which the action takes place
The Locations Scouter is responsible for identifying and making recommendations for appropriate location sites, both interior and exterior based on the needs of production.
Consults with the Locations Manager any parameters of choice the Executive Producer, General Producer, Director, Art Director and Director of Photography might have regarding the geographical location, architectural style and physical dimensions and configuration of desired location
Plans preliminary scouting trips for the purpose of selecting several possible locations which most closely satisfy the parameters established
Responsible for proposing a minimum of 3 potential options for each location needed
Assists the Location Manager in preparing a detailed map of potential locations
Personally inspects each proposed or potential locations
Drafts a site map specifying parking needs for permit purposes once a location has been selected
Illustrates and notes all dimensions of the exterior and interior of the property to be used
Ensures that the locations selected meet all the EHS requirements that guarantee employees’ well-being (i.e. restrooms, crafts-services/catering areas, etc.)
Responsible for assisting in the coordination and arrival of all props and other elements required for shoots at the locations (i.e. animals, cars, special effects)
Provides maps and driving directions on how to get to the different locations to the field production crew
Works under the direct supervision of the Locations Manager and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s)
Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Studios’ infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures
Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment
Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader
Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader
Minimum 2 years of experience in the production of TV/Film
Must be fully bilingual in English and Spanish
Exhibits working knowledge of health and safety requirements
Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Internet search engines
Must be able to perform job at locations in and outside work environment with varying weather conditions
Willingness to travel and on weekends with short notice
Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
Must be fluent in English and Spanish (speak, read & write)
Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays, weekends, and natural disaster emergencies.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
