Associate Commerce Editor
TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of America’s favorite morning show, is looking for a Commerce Associate Editor to manage our ecommerce content, with a focus on shoppable broadcast segments. In this position you work closely with the producers to identify and write up show content for TODAY.com, while also editing stories from freelancers. The associate editor will be responsible for daily optimization and creation of commerce stories and will help manage the Shop TODAY Facebook page. The ideal candidate will have a mix of editorial and analytical skills. This candidate should have the ability to create shoppable editorial content focused on product categories across fashion, home, parents, beauty, health and food. He/she should be able to use data and analytics to drive editorial decisions and should be able to choose products based on what’s trending and what the target audience is interested in.
Job Description:Write shopping content for the Shop TODAY siteCollaborate with broadcast producers to identify and optimize any commerce-focused lifestyle content on TODAYTrack metrics, SEO trends and historical performance and iterate based on findingsOptimize posts based on affiliate partnerships and commerce opportunitiesMonitor the news and social space for editorial pitchesParticipate in regular editorial meetingsWork with the social teams to create shoppable contentBuild commerce posts in the CMSAdditional points:Quickly turn around stories from broadcast, while managing daily workloadDeliver feedback to broadcast producers about successes and offer suggestions for potential opportunitiesDevelop a deep knowledge of tagging structures and taxonomy
• 0-1 years editorial experience, commerce experience a plus
• Experience working in broadcast news or linear television production a plus
• Market work experience for a lifestyle brand a plus
• Firm grasp of spelling, grammar, and punctuation rules (AP Style)
• Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions
• Ability to manage many different tasks at once
• Strong understanding of data, analytics and excel
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams
• Knowledge of iNews a plus
• Knowledge of affiliate marketing platforms including Skimlinks, Amazon, Linkshare and Rakuten a plus
