Loyola Marymount University is seeking a Digital Media and Communications Manager who can perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense and service-orientated environment. The Digital Media and Communications Manager creates, develops, and executes digital content and social media strategy in support of LMU School of Film and Television (SFTV) as a fully integrated member of LMU’s Marketing and Communications team. Embedded in LMU School of Film and Television, this position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications, SFTV and works closely with SFTV senior leadership to ensure that digital communications enhance the school’s visibility and advance the university’s and SFTV’s strategic priorities and brand. The incumbent cultivates and stewards relationships with key stakeholders that inspire a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation as part of a broader, synchronized, multi-disciplinary team of communications professionals. The manager will need to work evenings and weekends to support programming, events, and major project deadlines.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to adjust to changing demands and shifting priorities, provide quick turnaround and updates for multiple requests, yet maintain a strong reputation of high quality work.

The Digital Media and Communications Manager will also generate, edit, and post content to traditional and digital communications channels and produce marketing products that support LMU SFTV activities and programs and engage identified target audiences. The Manager will develop and deliver video productions, event promotions, and awareness/engagement campaigns, produce/support event calendars and post to SFTV social and digital channels.  We are also looking for candidates to produce and deploy email newsletters, managing content and schedules, and coordinate with university communications professionals to incorporate SFTV objectives into broader communications and marketing activities.

We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and have familiarity with marketing, communications, the film industry and higher education preferred.  Minimum of 3 years of communications and/or social media experience.  Candidates must have demonstrated experience managing and executing communications across multiple communications and marketing channels and media; highly developed skills in communications writing and editing; and a highly collaborative style with experience developing and implementing communications strategies successfully. A background that demonstrates relationship-building, consensus-building, flexibility, and managing through influencing is a must.  We are also seeking a self-starter, able to work independently and entrepreneurially; experience creating, developing and implementing new initiatives.  Demonstrated computer competency with common production software suites, such as photo editing software, email marketing tools, and analytics reporting software is required.
