Cox
Enterprises is hiring a Director, Corporate Social Responsibility and Public
Affairs who will be responsible for developing and leading governance of
Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) for Cox Enterprises.  The director will develop a champion and
committee structure for CSR at Cox with key partners in Diversity and
Inclusion, Cox Conserves, Benefits and others. 
The director will organize and prepare CSR committee meetings, including
action plans and reporting that ladders up to the CSR Committee of the
Board.  This role will develop a data
collection and reporting process for all CSR information, will ensure
validation and ongoing reporting, and will support the execution of the CSR
report. The director will lead development of impact reporting and systems to
drive Cox’s community targets. This role is also responsible for the Public
Affairs of Cox in the Atlanta market, partnering with key audiences such as the
chambers of commerce, Techstars, city officials and more in
establishing positions on key public affairs issues.

 

 


 

Duties and responsibilities

 

 

 

  • Lead,
    develop and implement the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility
    governance structure.
  • Partner
    with all departments including Sales, Marketing, Communications, Public
    Relations, Industry Relations, Business Development, Strategy, Diversity
    and Inclusion and Human Resources to plan, organize, and execute on short
    term and long term CSR goals and reporting.
  • Define
    and deliver program management tools to manage the collection of project
    data from business partners. Quantify impact and value to the business and
    develop ongoing tracking and reporting mechanisms.
  • Lead
    progress and tracking towards Cox’s community goals.
  • Lead
    external CSR reporting
  • Maintain
    awareness of industry-wide best practices and developments in CSR and
    appropriately provide leadership on internal changes as necessary
  • Initiate,
    develop, maintain and expand collaborative partnerships within the Atlanta
    market focused on Public Affairs.
  • Partner
    with key stakeholders including D&I, Benefits, Government Affairs,
    etc. on developing positioning frameworks for key Public Affairs issues.
  • Advise
    and support Cox business units’ Community Relations and Sustainability
    strategies
  • Partner
    with Corporate Communications to share CSR story effectively with internal
    and external audiences
  • Develop
    and manage department budget for CSR and Public Affairs initiatives
  • Maintain
    adequate staff levels, training, mentoring, coaching, and performance
    management for the CSR and PA team
  • Develop
    and implement department short and long term objectives that challenge,
    motivate and inspire the CSR and PA team
  • Assist
    with various projects as needed. 

  • Qualifications:Minimum
    qualifications include
    :



  •  
  • Bachelors
    in community relations, CSR, sustainability, or a related field
  • 10+
    years experience in CSR, sustainability or community relations
  • In-depth
    understanding of sustainability and impact reporting and practices
  • Proven
    ability to lead and inspire others
  • Ability
    to work cross functionally in a fast paced environment with multiple
    personality types
  • Ability
    to work with all levels of the business and with a strong executive
    presence
  • Ability
    to think strategically, to link CSR efforts with larger business ambition
    and success
  • Strong
    writing and communication skills, ability to facilitate  meetings with multiple audience types
  • Proven
    analytical skills
  • Understanding
    of state and local issues and ecosystem and ability to drive a public
    affairs agenda
  • Strong
    ability with Power Point, Word, Excel

    qualifications include

  • Masters
    in Business Administration, non-profit management or related field
  • Experience with foundation management and/or
    grant management
