The Senior Competitive
Intelligence Manager - Enterprise is responsible for the management,
control and delivery of key initiatives, partnering with Cox Automotive
corporate leaders to drive strategic alignment and guide critical/strategic
business decisions made across marketing, product, sales as well as Cox
Automotive’s Enterprise Strategy team. In addition to keeping a pulse on key
competitive activity, the Senior Manager will support the Director, Competitive
Intelligence in delivering competitive landscape insights, strategic analyses
and actionable insights that help direct Cox Automotive’s short and long-term
strategic roadmap. The Senior Manager will partner with Competitive
Intelligence team’s subject matter experts and serve as strategic advisors to the
Enterprise-level business.









  • Research: stay current on market and
    competitors and monitor the news/marketplace, on a daily basis. Undertake
    specific research projects, build areas of expertise and share knowledge with
    team members
  • Competitive analysis: perform research
    and analysis on specific competitors: market presence, product offerings and
    capabilities, sales strategies and relevant dynamics. Gain a deep understanding
    of some of Cox Automotive’s key competitors and build winning competitive
  • Support Strategy & Enterprise
    Groups with deep understanding of competitive and marketplace trends; conveying
    key insights, current and potential capabilities, strategic implications and
    recommend courses of action
  • Content development: develop
    competitive briefs, quarterly earnings points-of-view (POVs), product matrixes and
    presentations for different audiences (product teams, sales, pre-sales,
    marketing, executive team, partners) with the appropriate level of details
  • Product management: stay abreast of product
    roadmaps and product. Identify and communicate portfolio gaps and market
    observations on a regular basis
  • Sales support: Assist sales in
    competitive situations by making recommendations on sales strategies and by
    highlighting the benefits of Cox Automotive vs competitive offerings.  Also, partner with Sales and Marketing teams
    to create competitive battle cards and other sales enablement materials
  • Product marketing: experience bringing
    a product to market or being part of an organization that does
  • Direct processes and operational best
    practices and adapting organizational requirements as needs change
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and
    subject matter expertise of competitive landscape, serving as a trusted advisor
    to Cox Automotive Enterprise Strategy, Sales, Product and Marketing by building
    alignment on strategic opportunities and interpretation of competitive threats,
    and making recommendations that help influence and drive the direction of Cox
  • Lead cross-BU deliverables: quarterly competitive
    updates, NADA recognizance, quarterly earnings calls
  • Maintain competitive landscape to
    support likely M&A activities, due diligence, market sizing/share and LRP
  • Drive development of competitive
    inputs for long-range strategic, annual operating, and business development
  • Support efforts to capture, analyze,
    and synthesize competitive insights from various channels (earnings calls,
    analyst’s reports, press releases, team members, etc.), maintaining competitor
    profiles including: drivers, current strategy, management assumptions, and
  • Establish a strong network, including
    key industry groups, clients and experts (internal and external)
  • Keep abreast of developments and best
    practices in the Competitive Intelligence field and maintain the knowledge
    necessary to retain professional competence (including participation in
    competitive intelligence-related events)
  • Support ad hoc research requests and
    assume other responsibilities as they arise


































  • BS/BA
    in related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and
    work-related experience
  • BS/BA
    and MBA strongly preferred; Advanced degree (M.S., MBA) preferred
  • 7+
    years professional experience, predominantly in a business consulting,
    competitive intelligence, corporate strategy, or finance capacity
  • This
    position reports to the Director, Competitive Intelligence
