Cox is taking a new direction that will reimagine our brand experience
– from how we communicate and how it feels to do business with us to the role
our products play in people’s lives.  The
success of our strategy depends on how well we understand our customers,
identify new opportunities, and translate insights into action.  The Consumer Insights Director plays a
critical role in delivering this mission. 
We’re looking for a seasoned insights professional who is not only an
expert at conducting primary market research but is also adept at consulting
with leaders to drive strategic decisions.


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

The Director will be responsible for leading and/or executing a diverse
mix of qualitative and quantitative market research studies in areas such as
brand positioning, advertising effectiveness, message development, pricing
& packaging, new product development, product launches, customer
experience, and customer segmentation.


Major tasks:

  • Collaborate with internal clients (e.g., Product
    Marketing, Product Development, Advertising, and Pricing teams) to understand
    business objectives and translate needs into clear research objectives.
  • Manage research projects end-to-end, including
    recommending methodologies, identifying suppliers, managing questionnaire
    design, determining sampling and analytical plans, and developing presentations.
  • Lead market research managers and analysts to
    accomplish research projects successfully.
  • Work effectively with external consumer research
  • Translate and communicate market research
    findings into concise and actionable insights.
  • Link multiple research studies together over
    time into overarching insights.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to senior
    leaders and other key decision-makers.
  • Teach and coach market research managers and
    analysts and support their professional growth and development.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
  • Ten (10) years of combined experience in market research, marketing, brand management, or strategy consulting. 
  • Ten (10) years of combined experience in market research, marketing, brand management, or strategy consulting. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or research field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience managing a high functioning market research team.
  • Deep expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques, as well as experience using analytical tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, influence, and leadership skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization. 
  • Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in social science research, MBA, or MMR degreeAt least five (5) years of client-side insights experience.Experience in a subscription-based businessExperience in media and entertainment
