Job description: 

As the title suggests, the Business Reporter of Strategic Content is a role that requires top-notch analytical skills anchored by strong journalism, reporting, writing and researching experience. In this position, the successful candidate will be able to identify industry trends that can be then developed into various forms of content to include articles, executive briefing reports, videos and special reports, among others. You’ll be able to tap your breaking news experience with analytical skills with the purpose of creating content aimed at better informing this global industry. This position reports to the Executive Editor of Strategic Content Development.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Researching, reporting, writing and editing content across platforms to include online and print media
  • Working with the Strategic Content Development team to identity various industry trends for the purpose of creating business insights via special sections and reports
  • Researching and analyzing public and private companies in the fashion apparel, retail, beauty, accessories and luxury markets
  • Developing and cultivating sources in these industries, and reporting on their activities in the market
  • Conducting one-on-one interviews with industry executives and experts
  • Attending business conferences, special events, forums, summits, news conferences and other events to report on activities and develop industry sources

Desired skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in business reporting, writing and editing
  • Experience in B2B industries a plus
  • Ability to “connect the dots” and spot market trends
  • Ability to apply analytical and strategic thinking to develop robust business content
  • Strong ability to identify, build and cultivate industry sources – especially with c-level decision-makers
  • Excellent listening, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
  • BA/BS degree required
