An Account Executive with Colangelo & Partners will be a core member of our growing San Francisco team and be a crucial part of client strategy and management. You will work closely with our Senior Account Executives and Account Director to help further establish Colangelo & Partners in California by enhancing our services, finding strategic partners for creative services, and building our network with top media, influencers and trade in the NorCal market.

AE's participate in all aspects of the integrated public relations campaigns, from media and client relations, to brainstorming sessions and social media execution. You will primarily be proactively pitching media while providing ideas and input to the NY-based social media team for growing account business. AE's will work directly with clients, most of whom are based in California wine country. There are multiple opportunities for travel, both to our NY office and abroad for press trips and agreed client meetings.

An AE at Colangelo & Partners is a proactive problem solver and can think quickly on their feet. They pay attention to detail in every-aspect of their job, from reviewing media lists and press releases to editing social media copy and new business proposals. They are strong writers, who value and embody the PR fundamentals of establishing genuine relationships with media, crafting intriguing and relevant stories. Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of wine/spirits and/or lifestyle/hospitality/travel PR experience, preferably with agency vs. in-house with a proven track record of results

  • A thorough understanding of public relations fundamentals including media list development, developing talking points for spokespersons, pitching across print/media/broadcast outlets

  • Adept in Cision and Microsoft office tools (Excel, PPT, Word)

  • Can work strategically across multiple accounts at once – and handle and field requests from clients, media and managers alike

  • Attention to detail – from your calendar to your to-do lists, you must have a proven system for organization for your own work as well as the work and responsibilities of your team

  • Ability to think creatively, contribute to team brainstorms and develop innovative communications campaigns for clients
