Meredith Corporation is in search of a highly-qualified, motivated candidate for the following:

The Video Editor at Meredith Corporation edits video of various news events and special projects both long and short form for distribution for daily news broadcasts, lifestyle shows, digital and social platforms across the Meredith broadcast group. The individual will work in a collaborative team environment, pitching new video ideas. Must work well independently and with management and have a keen eye for detail to ensure all our assets and deliverables are of the highest quality. This position receives and follows instructions on editing material, from managers, producers and talent. The Video Editor will work closely with Executive Producers on special projects in coordination with the print-based brands of Meredith's National Media Group. The individual will be a key player in our Scaled Content Solutions team, and report to the Corporate Director of Content and Distribution.

Essential Job Functions

70% - Edit material from raw master video according to instruction. Observe edits as they are being made on the electronic equipment and correct those that appear to be incorrect technically, aesthetically or for editorial content.

20% - Organize material and coordinate with all stations to ensure programs are completed in a timely manner.

10% - Set up equipment for distribution and receiving of video and audio files.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education: College degree or technical diploma, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience: Full time news or production editing experience required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in the use of AVID editing systems.
  • Proficient in use of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Must have a broad-based production background and a passion for innovative video storytelling.
  • Must have a strong interest in social media.
  • Must be able to complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and holidays.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
