The Media Operations Specialist - Entertainment Programming has advanced knowledge of Avid Interplay Media System, workflows and procedures and can coach and train co-workers. Demonstrates exceptional understanding of the business and an advanced ability to assess and manage risks. Independently grasp project scope and develop action plans. Demonstrates remarkable customer service and conflict management skills. The position serves as support for Media Operations Analyst and Coordinators as well as the main media services support for all internal departments. Job ResponsibilitiesAbility to mentor and train co-workers on operating keys tools such as Avid Media Composer, Media Capture System, Air Speed system, Aya KiPro’s, Evertz router, Phabrix measurement system, and various tape machines formats to ingest media assets into necessary systems and perform quality control of acquired content following standards, procedures and methodsAdvanced operational communication skills with ability to produce documentation that clearly relates information in Spanish and EnglishAdvanced expertise of our operating systems, how to trouble-shoot various hardware and software systems, with advanced ability to formulate solutionsAdvanced ability to identify gaps in procedures or the operational environment and develops adequate workflows, processes and procedures to fill/eliminate the gapsAdvanced knowledge of project scope definition and develop action plans for the team to meet the goalsAdvanced understanding of the business, business process analysis and designIndependently assess risks and develops effective plans of action to manage those risksAble to manage self and team performance in the absence of a lead or managerKnowledge of conflict management best practices with ability to resolve conflicts with a positive attitudeAble to work independently and make adequate decisions for both clients and the teamAble to develop rapport with clients and co-workersProvides remarkable customer service and support to all departments and complete tasks in a timely and professional manner

Basic Qualifications
•Minimum 5 years of experience in a production, post production, broadcast, or communications environment
•Advanced knowledge of Avid Interplay Media System, workflows and procedures
•Able to collaborate with, provide guidance to and train co-workers
•Open to receiving guidance and instruction from lead and management
•A team player, who is always respectful, follows rules and policy, has good communication skills, and maintains a positive attitude
•Advanced knowledge of various media formats/VTRs (Digibeta, HDcam, XDcam), file types (QT, WMV, MXF, MOV, DNX, DNX 175X, DV, etc) and video standards (NTSC, PAL)
•Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications including MS outlook, MS Word, & MS Excel
•Advanced understanding of frame rates
•Prior experience using media technology library and workflow systems
•Flexibility with work schedule; must be able to work late hours, weekends and/or holidays
•Professional experience with Avid Media Composer
•Prior work in an editing position
•Experience with transcoding media files to multiple codec standards
•Organized and punctual with the ability to follow detailed instructions
•Experience in a technical support / troubleshooting role
•Must be fully fluent in Spanish and English

Eligibility Requirements:
•Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends
•Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment
•Must be willing to work in the greater Miami, Florida area
•Must be 18 years or older
•Must have a valid driver’s license
•Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
•Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
