Cox Automotive is hiring Senior Manager, Product Marketing.  The primary role of the
Senior Manger Product Marketing is to guide our product teams who are charged
with building new products and increasing the profitability of existing
products. Specifically, the products will be in the Dealer Management Solution
(DMS) category.  This role is responsible
for the go-to-market product strategy in partnership with Product, Engineering
and Sales.  This individual is responsible
to get the go-to-market plans for these solutions ready to sell (marketing and
sales campaigns/ programs), enables the sales and other performance
support teams on ways to sell it. 




This Senior Manager Product Marketing is focused on
growing revenue and increasing market share in accordance with corporate goals
and will be responsible for developing the strategy, execution and activation
of product marketing campaigns by developing engaging marketing programs that
will reach the target audience for each product and inspire an increase in
sales revenue. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and will
manage and mentor a marketing specialist.




Specific Responsibilities

 

  • Know the market, our
    business and our buyers by conducting business analytics, segmentation and
    execution assessment and recommendations
  • Be the expert on our buyers to
    understand their needs and buying criteria
  • Be an expert on the competition,
    and develop strategies and tactics to reduce the threat
  • Identify market
    opportunities, product segmentation, and conduct opportunity assessments
  • Identify customer
    problems and provide gap analysis on product features and capabilities
  • Work
    closely with Product Management and Engineering to develop a three-year
    product roadmap to illustrate our vision and plan into the future
  • Develop product positioning, value
    propositions, and messaging that differentiates our products in the market
    for new and existing audiences
  • Lead product branding and naming. Work in
    partnership with the brand team on creative development
  • Own
    communication internally and externally for all aspects of your product
    business
  • Manage
    and own product marketing calendar and timelines
  • Key liaison to the product team, building
    relationships and partnerships with the team and integrating into product
    plans
  • Develop quarterly marketing plans and
    provide stakeholder updates on marketing plan execution and results
  • Own the development of quarterly
    comprehensive marketing plans on how you will drive impactful business
    results (plans to include goals, strategies, tactics, phased campaign
    components, and more).  Socialize,
    gain input and buy-off across BU teams and within marketing.  Communicate to sales and
    product/engineering well in advance of each quarter’s new campaigns/programs
    with the marketing team to identify the appropriate marketing tactics for
    specified objectives and strategies including advertising, collateral,
    public relations, direct marketing, digital marketing, SEM, social media,
    and other tactics as appropriate
  • Write
    clear, concise and strategic messaging to drive traffic that includes
    emails, promotions, direct mail pieces and other marketing materials that
    drive business results
  • Create
    marketing and sales assets (data sheets, battlecards, one-pagers, web
    assets, ads, online gamification, “buddy” emails, and more) for all
    phases of the marketing and sales lifecycle utilizing the foundational
    value prop and messaging created
  • Know
    why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our
    product and processes to create improvement
  • Be a subject
    matter expert our business can rely on. 
    Be the top product and market evangelist


  • Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline.  MBA or advance degree preferred
  • Generally 10 years of B2B software product marketing experience
    with at least 3 years’ experience in a management/leadership role 
  • Solid experience in B2B marketing, product marketing or
    product development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable and skilled in holding professional conversations
    and building rapport with target buyers and users
  • Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to
    prioritize and drive decision-making
  • Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a
    must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data
    into actionable information
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff,
    colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties
  • Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean
    startup principles
  • Proficient in productivity applications such as Microsoft
    Office, Project or Basecamp
  • Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools (I.e., Slack,
    JIRA, Aha and Salesforce)
  • Subject matter expertise/automotive industry experience a
    strong plus
