PLEASE NOTE: This is a temporary position with an estimated end date in August/September 2020, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Role Purpose
This position is part of the core publishing team for NBC Olympics Digital. The role includes day-to-day editorial maintenance and publishing of content to NBCOlympics.com, the NBC Sports app and other platforms as necessary. This position will also work with NBC Olympics’ partners on the distribution of content.

Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day content creation, publishing and management on NBCOlympics.com and in the NBC Sports app
  • Brainstorm content ideas related to assigned Olympic sports and the Tokyo Olympic Games in general
  • Assist with minor edits of short-form video content for NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app, including prepping past Olympic highlights for use before and during the Tokyo Games
  • Write headlines and carry out proper content tagging for both written and video content
  • Write titles and other metadata for live streams on multiple digital platforms
  • Write general informational articles and news updates on assigned Olympic sports and athletes
  • During the Olympic Games, responsible for real-time publishing and updating of content in assigned areas in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Communications or a related field
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience or related internships
  • Extensive knowledge of sports and internet culture with a true passion for the Olympics
  • Experience publishing content in a content management system
  • Some experience in Adobe Photoshop (at minimum, comfort cropping and re-sizing photos)
  • Some experience in a video design program (i.e., Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Avid Media Composer)
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and willing to work a flexible schedule
