Position Summary:

The Product Manager for Business TV is
responsible for development and operations, including launch and lifecycle
management for Cox Business’ video product portfolio. 





This individual will be responsible for:

Managing and executing product development and
feature enhancement activities that align with the overall product and
architectural direction for Cox Business




Acting as the primary point of contact for
Legal/Regulatory, Engineering, Care, Field Services, Order Management, Supply
Chain and other similar teams as well as the liaison to the broader Cox
Business product and technology organizations




Launching and implementing new products
according to standard practices ensuring a successful hand-off to boundary and
field teams




Driving product performance through launch and
lifecycle by resolving defects and operational flaws





The successful candidate must have or must be
able to quickly develop an in-depth knowledge of Cox & Cox Business’
operating model and ecosystems from a business, technical and operational
perspective.  The individual filling this
role must be self-motivated and demonstrate the ability to lead and drive
consensus on complex issues.





Primary Responsibilities









  • Develop
    articulated product strategy for Cox Business video portfolio


  • Build
    and manage product roadmap to execute on strategy


  • Research
    and prepare business case justification for new investments


  • Lead
    cross functional teams to build profitable business cases supporting new
    development that can be integrated into the company’s financial plan


  • Collaborate
    with cross functional teams to develop product requirements, concept design and
    testing of new services


  • Manage
    trial and testing activities, document results assessment, and institute
    necessary modifications resulting from trials


  • Recommend
    strategies for deployment and launch





















  • Drive
    commercial video product development activities in accordance with the company
    product development methodology and standards


  • Work
    closely with integrators, vendors and internal teams to deploy and support


  • Coordinate
    with, and provide leadership for, project managers and cross-functional groups
    on development and product release schedules/deliverables


  • Individually
    conduct and work with boundary partners to conduct quality assurance testing of
    product functionality and operational procedures


  • Manage
    resolution of development issues


  • Design,
    author and maintain requirements for new products, enhancements, and customer


  • Implement
    new workflows and workflow changes in support of development activity


  • Partner
    with training organization to build effective product and technical training
    content and facilitate training rollout plans


  • Own
    and maintain critical documentation, including product concept, product
    definition, playbooks, process and procedure materials, job aids and training
























  • Lead
    and manage product enhancements and migrations to new technology platforms


  • Analyze
    and monitor product performance using operational and financial data


  • Drive
    operational and product performance improvements during lifecycle


  • Provide
    regular forecasts to stakeholders like Supply Chain and Field Services for
    capacity and inventory planning


  • Support
    strategic sales opportunities


  • Serve
    as subject matter expert for the commercial video portfolio


  • Manage
    product/feature sunset or end of life planning and implementation


  • Gather
    input from customers and internal stakeholders (i.e. sales, marketing, etc.) to
    find and address product weaknesses/gaps and identify opportunities for
    continuous improvement


  • Review
    data related to competitor capabilities and pricing


  • Provide
    leadership and insight in competitive analysis, including commercial customer
    use behavior and emerging trends and applications



























Required Knowledge,
Skills, Abilities:

























  • 7+
    years of experience required in related field (i.e. Marketing, Sales, Sales
    Operations, etc.); or 5+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a
    related advanced degree


  • Product
    development/management experience with a record of delivering multiple projects
    on time and within budget in a time critical environment


  • Ability
    to achieve goals by working with large cross-functional teams in a matrix


  • Technical
    and market knowledge with video and other telecom technologies, platforms, and
    network architectures


  • Knowledge
    of OSI model, including GPON, Fiber, and DOCSIS topologies


  • Experience
    with video transport and delivery architecture models including QAM, IP
    transport, streaming video, content management & encryption and associated
    hardware and platforms


  • Experience
    with product development lifecycle and adherence to product development
    methodologies, particularly with gated or waterfall processes


  • Analytical,
    communication and presentation skills

















Preferred Skills and






  • Experience
    in LEAN innovation management practices or other agility-focused development
    processes is a good addition


  • Telecommunications
    industry experience


  • BS/BA
    degree in related discipline strongly desired (e.g. Business Administration,
    Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
