About The Role

As MV continues to grow, we are looking for a strategic and independent Senior Manager, Media Sales Planning to join the Digital Planning & Revenue Operations team. As Senior Manager, you will report directly to the Executive Director and will play a critical leadership role within our diverse, agile, and collaborative team.  You will be focused on developing first-class campaign strategies, formulating engaging digital campaigns with competitively priced products and accurately projected inventory. Your primary objective is to understand client objectives and create compelling media plans that strategically positions Inc. & Fast Company to meet those objectives and win the business. 


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Thoroughly understand and serve as an expert of Inc. & Fast Company’s ad product offerings and inventory.
  • Participate in internal RFP brainstorms where you’ll be expected to contribute cohesive recommendations.
  • Advice on the most strategic and effective routes for executing campaigns based on client KPIs.
  • Develop compelling and competitive media plans in line with overall proposal and campaign execution strategy.
  • Confidently and accurately answer client questions relating to targeting, tracking, ad capabilities, specifications, terms and conditions.
  • Provide optimal internal rep and client service support to help move the sale from pitch to IO.
  • Accompany sales reps on select and relevant sales calls.
  • Track proposals throughout the sales pipeline to keep internal stakeholders abreast of upcoming campaigns for effective planning and execution post-sale. 
  • Collaborate and serve as a key partner to Executive Director as well as Sales & Marketing leadership team for improved workflow and processes from pitch-to-pay
  • Review, approve, and accurately record Insertion Orders into OMS for execution and fulfillment
  • Own and manage all pre-sale responsibilities, supervise and approve work completed by junior media planner/s, provide support post-sale as required, and assist in monthly billing & reconciliation as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferable 
  • 5-10 years digital advertising experience, sell-side experience preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience leading a team, with strong influencing skills
  • Above average Excel proficiency
  • Experience collaborating across functions with diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Lineup’s Adpoint or a similar OMS: Fattail, WideOrbit or Operative
  • Familiarity with PRISMA and other 3rdparty agency buying platforms
  • Familiarity with Google Ad Manager (formerly DFP)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Comscore, and MOAT
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or another CRM
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Smart and quick proactive learner with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Desire to continuously learn
