Communications Assistant

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States, is seeking a detail-oriented communications assistant to join its communications team in Washington.

The communications assistant will oversee all administrative tasks for the communications team including daily scheduling, onboarding new scholars, billing and budget management, and provide logistics support for the events, web and media and database teams as needed. Responsibilities will also include coordinating, drafting and maintaining communications plans for key editorial, multi-media and outreach projects and liaising with the program staff and internal communications department staff on deliverables and deadlines.

Position will also provide support for website postings, email drafting, updating Carnegie‚Äôs media and general contact databases, event preparation and logistics, social media, and all other outreach efforts.  This is an entry-level position, and the ideal candidate will be flexible and enthusiastic while working on a variety of different assignments and projects.

The ideal candidate should be organized with excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently to solve problems and complete projects quickly without sacrificing quality and accuracy. Strong writing and editing skills, as well as knowledge of and interest in foreign policy issues, are essential. Knowledge of HTML and Dreamweaver a plus.
