About the Job


The Specialist, Customer Acquisition & Retention is responsible for working directly with the Sr. Manager, Lead & Demand generation to execute on strategies that attract new clients to Cox Media and retain our current base.  Through marketing and sales-based programs, this role will work to support strategies that ensure the right messages are reaching the right clients or leads at the right part of their sales journey to increase the likelihood they will become long-term Cox Media clients.


What You Will Do

  • Utilizes proactive customer service and loyalty skills to develop and implement programs to address customer inquiries and complaints preventing churn
  • Builds customer loyalty by effectively demonstrating the value of Cox Media products and services
  • Actively promotes revenue growth and retention of services through a proactive use of marketing programs and professional selling skills
  • Tracks client churn for trends and competitive insights
  • Stays informed about the competition and knowledgeable about Cox Media products
  • Serves as primary point of contact for client after the sale and in the early hand-off of the Cox Media relationship
  • Serves as primary point of contact developing programs to re-engage churned clients or for cross-sell and up-sell
  • Provides excellent customer service
  • Adheres to all quality and monitoring guidelines
  • Meets or exceeds performance and sales expectations
  • May take overflow calls for Inbound Sales


Other Accountabilities:

  • Serves as a key support team member in achieving Lead/Demand Generation annual revenue goals with efforts against new business and growth from existing client base
  • Creates, updates, and maintains library of marketing content for new client acquisition as well client retention
  • Promotes the Cox Media brand across social channels to increase customer loyalty
  • Supports the over-arching acquisition & retention marketing planning and editorial calendar, supporting campaigns as necessary through customization by audience
  • Build continuous partnership with the Sr. Manager, Lead & Demand Generation to understand and maximize key revenue opportunities throughout the year and unplanned as needed
  • Build continuous partnership with other members of the Marketing team to utilize all outlets available for client acquisition and retention – social, online, blogs, etc.
  • Build continuous partnership with other members of the Marketing Communications team to have an intimate knowledge of content library

Qualifications:

Required 

  • 2+ years of experience required in marketing and/or sales
  • Able to demonstrate strong overall communication ability with an emphasis on written communication
  • Proficient use of MS-Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly – comfortable and confident in an ambiguous environment

Preferred 

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly preferred
  • Advertising Industry experience
  • Project coordination and B-2-B environment experience
