Publicist, reporting to Group Editorial Director
Skyhorse publishes a broad mix of books. With 49 New York Times bestsellers, more than 8,500 books on our backlist, and with a new distribution relationship with Simon & Schuster we are adding a Publicist.
In this role you will be responsible for both book and author publicity using your expertise instructing and mentoring editorial staff while advancing Skyhorse’s publicity strategy. Knowledge and experience of social media campaigns and promotions is also a plus.
A minimum of three years of successful publicity experience with a major US based publishing house is required. The ideal candidate will have worked on a full range of titles, shepherding best sellers while delivering the same level of excellence to first time authors as to celebrity authors. Successful use of social media within your role as a publicist is a strong positive.
- Formulate and execute publicity plans at a high level of mastery for seasoned imprints
- Formulate and implement innovative digital publicity strategy
- Create polished press releases, e-blasts, reports, and other materials
- Craft and pitch appropriate media in all various forms
- Liaise with authors, agents, vendors, key media independently
- Attend author and industry events
- Utilize and expand network of professional book media contacts
- Target media opportunities to drive greater sales
