VinePair is looking for an incredibly motivated, connected and experienced deal closer to work alongside our VP of Sales Liz Cronin and Co-Founder Adam Teeter, to continue to grow our business. We’re working with both up-and-coming and Fortune 500 brands on deeply integrated partnerships that span numerous departments and budgets. If you are incredibly motivated, resourceful, and passionate about our brand and the world of media, drinks, travel and lifestyle, and if you possess either a list of contacts at both brands and agencies or an ability to create new ones, we should talk. Salary commensurate with experience plus generous commission, bonus, equity, health and vision.
The main focus of this position is new business. You wouldn’t be stepping into a book to manage - the expectation is that you can either build or bring in relationships that did not exist before. Another important thing to be aware of is that this is not a typical digital media sales role. Banner ads and pre-roll are not what we do. This is about the big picture, we deliver our clients a 360 approach that offers their brands a unique opportunity to connect with an incredibly engaged audience of thirsty experience seekers in markets all across the globe.
We come up with out-of-the-box ideas that align with the client’s brief through the lens of our brand’s point of view. We act almost like an agency inside a media company, with the end goal of creating memorable experiences, both online and off that deliver the required KPIs for our clients. We’ve sold everything from robust sponsored editorial, to video campaigns, to newsletter features, to even brand positioning as strategy work, as well as bespoke events and activations that range from 20 people to thousands. Nothing is impossible. Some of our partners include: Don Julio, LVMH, E&J Gallo, Sixpoint Brewery, Duvel, Tattinger Champagne, Bacardi, Pernod Ricard, Santa Margherita, Wines of Chile and many more.
- 1-3 years of sales experience
- Lives and breathes digital “media” partnerships but doesn’t just fit in the digital media/RFP box
- Doesn’t simply wait for incoming partnership inquiries, but goes out and sources them
- Rolodex of contacts
- Ability to research and source contacts when an existing relationship is not there
- Magnetic personality, marketing minded, creative, team player
- Excited about rolling up their sleeves, getting sh*t done and building a business
- Comfortable selling & activating events/experiences
- Outside the box thinker
- Can focus on long lasting brand relationships vs quick money
- Key categories we’re looking to break further into: Travel, CPG, Luxury, Entertainment, Finance, Tech
