The company's three titles include HC&G (Hamptons Cottages & Gardens), CTC&G (Connecticut Cottages & Gardens) and NYC&G (New York Cottages & Gardens) as well as dailyDeeds™,, and C&GTV.

The publishers of C&G Media Group are seeking a creative, data-driven Digital Content Director to join our team in a leadership position. Equal parts content strategist and storytelling innovator, you’ll partner with the editorial and sales teams to deliver content in engaging new ways across the C&G titles, including CTC&G, NYC&G and HC&G, as well as dailyDeeds™,,, all social media platforms and e-newsletters.

The responsibility of the Digital Director is to develop brand loyalty, audience growth & engagement and revenue, via digital and social products.  The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience running multimedia content across a lifestyle and/or interior design digital platform, has a strong command of social platform reach and optimization, is an extraordinarily detailed project manager, and has proven success partnering across departments to create high-performing branded content and editorial programs. Most of all, they should be passionate about developing engaging digital content that marries C&G’s editorial mission with growing technologies.

Candidates should also be adept at utilizing social strategy and tactics to increase social engagement and click-through and should be able to pair taste with quantitative findings to make decisions on everything from copy and voice to types of collaborators and new social platforms. Additionally, experience with creating social stories beyond the written word is a welcome plus as we are growing our video experiences.


This three-tiered digital position encompasses the roles of editorial management, social media management and digital ad management/sales support. This includes managing,, all social platforms, and more. Qualifications for this position listed below:

  • Experience leading digital editorial/branded content teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SEO and SEM
  • Excellent organizational, writing, editing, and copywriting skills
  • Ability to write quickly and efficiently, following a SEO structure
  • Ability to track, analyze and report on data using Google Analytics and other social tracking tools
  • Ability to create an SEO calendar with key evergreen terms for staff, freelancers and interns
  • Proficient with all social media platforms
  • Ability to work with the sales team on sales calls and to field digital questions, when needed
  • Exceptional collaborative skills to work across Sales, Editorial and Marketing
  • Proficient in current digital news and trends
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Experience overseeing and tackling multiple projects at once
  • Ability to edit and write under tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal-driven and excited about digital, including experience managing and growing digital revenue
  • Expert in and passionate about all things digital
  • 7 years of experience as a digital publisher is required
  •  Knowledge of HTML
  • Advanced Adobe Creative Suite knowledge required
  • Knowledge of a variety of CMS platforms including Wordpress
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp

General roles (subject to change)

  • Write 5-7 posts per week, combination of web articles, interviews, dailyDEEDS, etc
  • Write all C&G Story (sponsored) content
  • Edit and post 10-15 articles per week
  • Download the print version of the magazine to be formatted for the web
  • Resize and watermark images
  • Rename images for SEO
  • Ability to create newsletters into Mailchimp; proofread for clarity, grammar, spelling and analyze campaign performance for clients
  • Post on social media (Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter) and provide reporting, when needed
  • Collect assets and provide analytics to clients for all ads
  • Upload ads to the website, such as Property of Note, Channel Sponsor, dailyDEEDS, Designer Spotlights
  • Attend company events and promote on Cottages Gardens’ social media accounts
  • Content writing, promotions and all ad management of
