Education Digital Content Producer

Alabama Public Television (APT) is seeking a Digital Content Producer to work in APT’s Education Division. The person in this position is an integral member of the APT Education team who is responsible for the content development, production, organization and structure of APT Education websites. The position is responsible for the development and execution of original APT Education content as well as curating national PBS Education and PBS Kids content. The education web producer will build upon APT’s existing presence on the Internet through the development and maintenance of ongoing content initiatives including the production and distribution of ongoing branded content, the creation of interactive and multimedia features, design improvements, the maintenance of back-end systems and the compilation of analytics and creation of data reports. The producer will play a role in selecting, producing, writing and editing content for APT’s website, mobile, broadcast, and social platforms as appropriate.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media, journalism, media arts, or a related field required; proficiency in web design, strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Basic HTML; CSS, CMS, digital video platforms and other relevant technology skills. Working knowledge of social network platforms, their associated metrics platforms and Google Analytics; digital motion graphics, video editing and production experience. Previous experience in an educational setting and/or in the production of educational content.
