Washingtonian is looking for a creative, driven, and experienced events & marketing manager to assist with the organizing, planning, marketing and executing of over 30 events per year. An integral part of the team, the events & marketing manager will report directly to the Senior Events Director, assisting as needed and managing some events from start to finish. In addition to the execution of events, this position will also assist with social media strategy, developing marketing plans, sponsor communication and relationship management and brainstorming new revenue-driven products for the organization.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the execution of all Washingtonian events, including participating and leading event production meetings
  • Produce event collateral to meet Washingtonian & sponsor brand standards, functionality, and creativity
  • Secure in-kind partnerships with event vendors and research new vendors for future collaboration
  • Oversee sponsor and partner relationships, including managing calls and integrating sponsors seamlessly into events with all expectations met
  • Build and execute social media and digital marketing plans for each event via print, digital, and social media marketing assets
  • Ensure that all post event follow up is completed, including finalizing budgets and creating event recaps
  • Work closely with the Marketing Graphic Designer to create promotional materials for all events
  • Supervise interns and volunteers on all day-of logistics
  • Create and implement audience recruitment strategies
  • Manage internal communication with leadership and other stakeholders
  • Assist Senior Events Director in all tasks

Position Qualifications: 

  • 2-3 years of relevant event management experience producing events with experience in the DMV area preferred
  • Experience communicating with and managing sponsors and vendors throughout the event planning and execution timeline
  • Experience working with social media and creating strong campaigns that help achieve event goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and comfort working with a diverse client roster, vendors and event staff personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Skilled at Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and InDesign
  • Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work nights and weekends if/when required
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of the DC Metro area/event venues
