EVINS Communications, a boutique agency with an incredible roster of clients within the travel, lifestyle, food, wine and spirits industries is currently looking for an Associate Director with strong ties to the hotel industry to be a key organization leader in the travel division. Working closely with the Vice President, Travel, this individual would manage strategic oversight, media relations and creative planning for the Travel team. Candidates must have a minimum of six years of agency experience and a track record of managing multiple account teams and mentoring staff. Critical to the role is possessing relationships with core top tier travel media, the ability to lead and mentor junior staff, interface confidently with clients, and be able to execute creative initiatives. In addition, the Associate Director must be excited to contribute to the agency’s culture and growth and would derive fulfillment from helping junior staffers grow from new to thriving public relations professionals.



The Associate Director (AD) of the Travel Group will be responsible for day-to-day media relations and account team oversight. The AD will have responsibility for division development for all things strategic planning, media relations, quality of account service, employee engagement/coaching, event planning and liaise with the partnerships team regularly. They will be responsible for partnering with the Vice President, Travel, managing the overall account team performance as it relates to media results, client service and quality control on multiple sizeable pieces of business.


AD responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ideate and execute strategic business and media plans for Travel division
  • Oversee event planning and implementation and budgets consistent with client platforms
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for clients
  • Cultivate relationships with top-tier consumer, business and trade press and actively pitch, mentor junior staffers on day-to-day pitching
  • Set up media tours and press events
  • Secure press meetings for clients
  • Draft and proofread press releases, as well as all media pitches
  • Develop and manage comprehensive media databases for clients, working with junior staff
  • Identify and draft opportunities for clients
  • Participate in new business presentations
  • Effectively manage the team’s media relations efforts, acting as a coach, mentor and tactician day to day
  • Monitor and identify trends/hot topics daily and apply them to client needs and programming to ensure top tier results


  • 6 Years of travel experience within an agency environment, including managing grand opening efforts for hotels in destinations within the United States and internationally
