PSI’s External Relations & Communications department positions PSI as a thought-leader and development NGO of the future. We nurture strategic relationships with donors and partners, support internal and in-country teams with external relations and raise unrestricted funds for PSI. We work hard and laugh a lot together.


We are looking for an Associate Manager, Social Media Marketing to help us plan and execute PSI’s corporate and digital strategy to amplify the organization’s reach, expand PSI’s audience, deepen the engagement with donors and decision-makers, and raise unrestricted funding. The Associate Manager, Social Media Marketing will also be responsible for consulting with external technical and regional teams at PSI Headquarter offices to execute digital tasks assigned.

Your contribution

The Associate Manager, Social Media Marketing position will support ERC with all of its digital marketing needs. That includes but is not limited to, the following:

Hourly Breakdown per week (up to 40 hours)

Digital Strategy (5 hours approx.)

Social media (15 hours approx.)

Email Marketing (5 hours approx.)Web Maintenance and Optimization (5 hours approx.)

Graphic Design (5 hours approx.)

Analytics (5 hours approx.)



The Associate Manager, Social Media Marketing will support ERC with all of its digital marketing needs. That includes but is not limited to, the following:


Digital Strategy (5 hours approx.)

  • Create strategy to improve impact against PSI’goals.
  • Research and leverage leading-edge content types to maximize PSI’s influence in the industry.

Social Media (20 hours approx.)

  • Establish an overall digital strategy for impact, execute, measure, report, revise and tracking it
  • Determine the optimal campaign mix for impact (timing, content, channels)
  • Determine and deploy an optimal or best practice mix of digital automation software for social media and email campaigns
  • On a campaign basis, create social media dissemination strategy, execute it, track it, report on its impact to the client, and recommend changes when appropriate ;
  • Maintain a social media calendar;
  • Strategically engage with PSI’s target audiences;
  • Monitor and update social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook);
  • Adapt to changing social media trends, best practices and tools;
  • Create ad campaigns on social media to increase to reach of PSI content and acquire leads;
  • Select best social media listening platform(s) and automation software to create and maintain list of social media influencers, as well as engage and schedule content upon approval. 

Graphic Design (5 hours approx.)

  • Ability to work with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, as well as Canva to create PSI branded social media graphics to increase engagement;
  • Create imagery for social media campaigns, blog posts and web pages. 

Web Maintenance and Optimization (5 hours approx.)

  • Knowledge of WordPress, HTML & CSS and awareness of other content management systems;
  • Process web page update requests from other departments;
  • Upload content to the blog and optimize using alt tags, keywords, headlines, etc.;
  • Assist PSI with website-wide updating process which includes flowing content into a newly designed site with over 200 pages.
  • Select, update and configure best practice suite of digital media software to collect and disseminate campaigns, as well as post blogs and media mentions to the website. 

Email Campaigns (5 hours approx.)

  • Update knowledge and best practices for email marketing continually and apply to increase open rates and click-throughs for each campaign.
  • Integrate email into overall communications strategy
  • Manage and Execute email campaigns with internal and external clients
  • Grow the subscription list for The Five and/or other email newsletters

Analytics (5 hours approx.)

  • Provide ERC with campaign-based, monthly and quarterly reports on: Blog traffic, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

The basics:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Least 3-5 years of experience working online
  • A self-starter who is nice, fun, loves helping clients achieve their goals and feels fulfilled working collaboratively with a team for shared success.
  • Experience developing digital strategies to advance PSI’s Strategic Plan and PSI’s standing in communities of practice and to amplify learnings from project implementation.
  • Experience with Wordpress (awareness of other content management systems, HTML and CSS helpful) and with establishing microsites and maintaining websites.
  • Excellent grasp of evolving social media landscape (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) and best practice digital tools and strategies to successfully engage and automate engagement of audiences
  • Experience with email campaign tools such as Watson (formerly SilverPop), ConstantContact, or others
  • Experience strategizing, planning and executing integrated communications campaigns on email, web and social media.
  • Experience with Google analytics, SEO, and online advertising platforms
  • Ability to learn quickly and efficiently, with the self-starter skills required to learn new programs as needed
  • Effective project and time management skills and an aptitude to always follow through
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, hectic environment
  • An openness to evolving responsibilities
  • An understanding of how to nurture relationships online with donors, partners and other stakeholders
  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and collegiality
  • Strong personal initiative, team player
  • References will be required.
  • The successful candidate will be required to pass a background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US. PSI will not consider work visa sponsorship and relocation expenses will not be covered for this position.
