Role Summary

The New Growth & Development group is now hiring a Manager for Project & Program Management for their Edge line of business/theme. Edge Computing and services are an evolving and competitive space in which Cox Communications – by leaning into its network assets – seeks to offer a differentiated experience for its business and residential customers. You’ll work alongside a dynamic team of professional intrapreneurs who are passionate about solving customer needs using disruptive technology in a dynamic environment.

The Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the program over the entire program life-cycle. They will have experience in executing large, complex enterprise projects and programs. The Program Manager is well versed in program management methodology, has rich background of program and projects successes, is energetic, personable and thrives in a dynamic environment. The Program Manager possesses the ability to find creative solutions to issues that jeopardize program goals/business objectives or timing, within budget or resource constraints.

The Program Manager can envision the ‘big picture’ and interfaces with executive, business, functional and New Growth & Development leadership to materialize the overall focus of the program in line with the business strategy. They leverage their expertise to drive decision making on all aspects of the program/project activities and mitigates erroneous decisions. The Program Manager can manage program/project(s) in a cross-functional, matrix management environment where high-risk, cost, impact or change is paramount to the organization. The role relies upon experience in relationship management, master plan management, communications, change management, delivery execution and benefits realization.
• What does this Job Sub-Family do?
CSTDEV: Responsible for corporate level strategy, development, and implementation, which includes the strategic planning, portfolio management, and project management.

PREPARE & MAINTAIN THE PROGRAM PLAN
1-Establish and maintain a working partnership with business owners, executives and project teams to rationalize business objectives & business priorities.
2-Establish a plan for program tracking and control including processes for management of the program.
3-Translate program objectives into integrated plans, schedules and budgets.
4-Oversees the overall management of related projects specific to the defined program.
5-Produces relevant program management deliverables such as plans on a page, project plans, program objectives, business case, program charter, risk assessment plan, stakeholder assessment, communication plans, issue/risk logs, benefits tracking, and program status reports.
6-Provide guidance to the team on development and execution of project plans; supports initiatives with well-defined project needs and cross-functional roles/responsibilities throughout the project life cycle.
7-Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
8-Ensure financial health of the Program by preparing budgets, forecasting expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions in partnership with finance.

PROVIDE LEADERSHIP & DIRECTION FOR THE PROGRAM TEAM
9-Effectively operate in a matrix and in fluid environments, proactive and forward thinking
10-Simultaneously manage work across multiple threads of the organization.
11-Communicate the program objectives, priorities and direction to all stakeholders.
12-Ensure planned, regular, and effective communication of status, issues, risks, and actions among all persons and parties involved in the program.
13-Establishes and manages a program level change control process that allows for submission of changes and impact assessment of changes.
14-Continuously monitor development process and proactively work to identify and resolve issues within the projects and across programs.
15-Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• 7 or more years of experience required in related field
• 5 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree (e.g. MBA)
• Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; as well as Project Management tools and software.
• Communiates effectively with Executives, internal and external partners, vendors and entities
• An excellent collaborator who works effectively with teams throughout the organization as well as with external industry partners, vendors, and business entities

Preferred

• BS/BA degree in related discipline desired
• MA/MBA in related discipline strongly desired
• 2 or more years of experience in a management role or leading cross functional projects
